Do not buy this washer

I bought this washer and dryer set a little over 2 years ago. The lid on the washer just started cracking on each corner and then pieces started falling off into the washer. I called LG to get a replacement lid since it was just past the warranty. They are no longer selling parts for this washing machine. That means my only option is to buy a new oneeven though it is only a little over 2 years old. Obviously LG knows there is an issue with this washer which is why they wont sell replacement parts. Do not buy this product What a waste of money for me. Because I do not want to buy a new one I have removed the lid and wash my laundry that way. I tried arguing this with LG for hours on the phone and they were no help. In fact they had me hire someone to come look at it and when they said it couldnt be fixed they did nothing even though they said if I paid someone to look at it and they were certified with LG that they would replace the washer for free if they could not fix it. Since no parts are available to replace. Waste of money and time.

Dont buy LG top loader washers

I purchased this washer 2yrs ago and it has been the worst experience ever. I have had to have the display swapped out 3 times already. The inside of the display and top of the inside of the washer literally is rusting away. So bad that the paint finish is just falling off and going into the drum. This causes the washing machine to give error code LE and stop washing. Had LG service it multiple times and they said there is nothing they can do and its just cosmetic. How is it just cosmetic when it stops the machine from working. I will never buy a top loader machine ever again. Thankfully I had an extended warranty or I would be out $900. They have spent more money in a repair technician than I paid for the unit. Why not just replace my unit? LG needs to learn how to take care of a long term customer

I bought this three years ago. It stopped several times I called LG the first time in November 2023 and they gave me instructions on how to start it. I started it myself the second time on March 19 2024. A repairman was needed the third time. That was April 2 2024 and LG had to order the part. I finally got my washer back on April 19th. I never thought about my washer until it quit working. Im not sure if I could or would purchase another LG.

Okay Washer. Control Panel goes bad after 2 years

The washer worked well for a while and still works but then the control panel started being wonky after about a year and a half. the control panel finally stopped working and the machine wouldnt turn on after only 2 years. i had a repair company come out and they confirmed it was the control panel that needed replaced. i took it apart and was going to replace the control panel myself $600-$800 for repair man to do it and Im handy enough to do it myself but it works when it is separated from the touch screen panel. something with the buttons do not work when they are together though. Instead of spending $400 to replace the control panel and/or buying a new machine i have been using it with the control panel separated. Kind of ghetto but when i spend $800 on a machine itd be nice to get more than just a couple years out of it as a whole. Hopefully this way i can get a little more use out of it since everything else seems to be working fine for now.

Beautiful washer but not a great purchase.

We purchased this washer back in August of 2019 after just moving into our new home. LG has always been a brand that we have associated with quality so we were so happy to take delivery of this washer and dryer pair. The units are absolutely beautiful and the load capacity was a big selling point. The problem is that we have had issues with the control panel losing power after cycles nearly from the start. LG customer service has been contacted and they recommended soft and hard resets which didnt resolve our problem. The only way to get the unit to power back on is to unplug it flip the circuit breaker and plug it back in. We lived with this for a couple of years believe it or not but just couldnt take it anymore. We are out of warranty and are faced with $400 mother board/control panel replacement that is scheduled for mid February. I would happily rate this unit much higher than 2 stars however I dont feel that we should be having to replace the motherboard/control panel already on our dime.

DL error problem

I bought this in 2022 and since then I was getting the DL error code. It was very frequent. we are a family of 3. So our usage is very light and we maintained the washer well. But still we got this error very often. Since I had the lg premium care was able to get a technician fix this every time even after the first year. They replaced the door latch twice and still dont fix the issue. Sometimes I fixed by resetting the washer as per the lg help material. The fixes were only temporary. Last November when the same error occurred the technician couldnt fix it and said the complete door had to be replaced. But the part isnt available since the model is discontinued. Since I had lg premium care they refunded the money. But was able to replace the washer only after 2 months due to the back and forth and I was going to laundromat every week to wash my clothes until it was replaced.

Best of Both Looks and being a hard worker

What an incredible washer it not only looks great but works great too. With the huge tub you can wash anything and the settings are so simply laid out that even I can wash clothes easily. I love the way the choices flow Cycle water temperature Level of dirt and spin speed. Then you can choose special options like Soak etc. Press the start button give it about 30-32 minutes and you hear the dinger when it is time to put them in the dryer.

Terrible Product I give a Zero rating

Bought a LG WT7800CV washer September 62020 and it is junk. I bought an extended warranty for 5 years and LG does not stand behind their products. We started getting gray pieces called scrud on our clothes and LG made two service calls and blamed us for using too much detergent and will not honor the warranty. This seems to be the way of the world now nobody takes care of the customer any more.

I purchased this unit about a month ago and I love it. I love the way it cleans and how it is so simple to operate. The tub is huge and I have yet to fill it above halfway. The control panel is laid so well it is like it is for a third grader. I like simple. I live in a barn and the unit is downstairs so it is very nice to have some control from my phone. Another way LG makes this easier to use and enjoy. The LG washes very fast and everything gets clean. How can you get so excited over a washer buy an LG like mine.

Pre-Soak Feature

I like the washer but I wish it had a pre-soak that didnt require me to hang around until I hear the signal to go ahead and add the detergent. My old washer had both a place to put detergent in for pre-wash and regular wash. Id also like to be able to soak for as long as Id like - ie. I can program the amount of time I want the clothes to soak before the wash cycle begins. I love the ability to do very large loads

There is only one thing weve encountered - that the lid has a loud snapping noise when its been closed for some time. Hard to get warranty

I bought high end LG washer and it showed draining problem in little over a year. The warranty service missed appointments several times numerous calls and its been more than a month without washer in hot summer. Had to do hand washing many times and still waiting. Worst nightmare in my entire lifetime getting 60. LG doesnt know how to support customers.

Its a workhorse but easily leaks in great amonuts

I bought this based on reviews. I read some of the bad reviews about leaking and disregarded them thinking the consumer did something wrong. Not so. Mine has leaked multiple times causing some laundry room damage. When you call LG you will get the answer that if clothes are not loaded correctly spin cycle will cause leaks. So its like walking on eggs wondering if youve loaded the machine correctly. If your laundry room is upstairscould be worse trouble. If downstairs tou still have to go up or down stairs to check the machineyou rarely know when its leaking until after the fact. For a WiFi machine youd think they could update the firmware so the machine stops when detecting an unbalanced load. I never had these problems with a front loader. I would never buy again.

I should be a star machine but...

It washes well and is a work horse. The biggest flaw is that if clothes are off balance in teh machine the machine will overflow during the spin cycle and cause a mess in your laundry room...and no warning or alarm. So... not good for upper level laundry rooms. I read multiple reviews after I bought it and found I am not alone. You really have to spend some time in ensuring the clothes are put in according to instructions... a front load would be better. And for some cycles when you think you would want an extra high spin because of the weight of the clothes.... its not an option for some cycles. This problem has been around for awhile and Im surprised it has not been addressed.

Washes Great but a Technical Flaw

This is our 2nd LG washer. The first one last 5 years before rust appeared in the top panel. A replacement panel was not available for repair. We purchased the current one almost 2 yrs ago. And once again rust in the same exact place. Caught it before the warranty was out and this time a replacement panel was available. The machine should last a lot longer. Careless manufacturing. Not sure we will purchase LG again.

Great washer

We have been very impressed with this washer. It cleans our clothes incredibly well is quiet and faster compared to some. Steam cycle is great for whites. The only complaint is the first wash of the day doesnt send a notification but all subsequent washes do.
