Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. I loved this refrigerator. I had no problems with it except the top shelf plastic border got cracked which did not impair its function but I replaced it and had no issues with the replacement. It also had an ice maker and no water dispenser which I did not want BUT no water filter for the ice maker. I bought it 2018 and had it for 6 years. I never had any issue with the fridge freezing over or the freezer frosting over. I found the temperature to be true to its settings. When I bought the LTCS24223S it was the largest capacity top freezer available in my area and fit my kitchen perfectly. I loved the feet because I could easily adjust them to move the unit when I cleaned the vents in the back. It was also very quiet. When I moved I could not bring it with me so I decided to buy a new one and guess what. This model has been upgraded to a newer model. The upgrade has an optional ice maker and an internal water dispenser AND filter. That is where the upgrade ends. It has less storage shelving. There used to be a third shelf on the bottom of the door where I could store my bags of flour. It is gone. There used to be a meat drawer under the middle shelf. Which actually was great for storing delicate produce and cheese. It kept the items fresher longer. It is gone. The light in the freezer is gone. Quite frankly I fail to see where this is an upgrade except for the internal water dispenser and water filter. I would call it more of a trade off. I would not buy the new model because it no longer suits my storage needs. I wish the old model was still available.

Horrible freezer refrigerator freezes or not cold

Worst refrigerator I have ever had. There is only 1 temperature control. The refrigerator freezes items in the back in the on top and 2nd shelf. The freezer seal barely holds the door closed and frosts very easily. I can feel cold air coming out of the bottom of the freezer door. I tried using a silicone as recommended online didnt help at all. This fridge/freezer is absolutely horrible. I have had it for 2 years and am going to buy a different one. What a waste of thousands of dollars. In the photos you can see the frost on the door shelves and on the glass shelf. The food gets frost bit quickly. I tried multiple settings and either the fridge is too warm or it freezes food.

Our frig is 8 years old with an extended warranty. AS of July 6 we have had the service man out 5 times and the frig is still not working right. The service man is doing a great job trying to correct the problem. However your call center is terrible a joke at best. Agents with little command of the English language and hard to get them to understand the problem.

An odd problem that could not be resolved resulting in a full refund from Lowes. When you close the refer door it causes the freezer door to open slightly. After 3 service calls while under warranty it could not be fixed Therefore I was given a full refund

On our 3rd compressor. The repair guy said they came out with an updated/fix compressor because its so common. I will not buy another LG appliance. 1 year warranty is terrible on a product that has such poor reliability. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars of groceries that had to be thrown out due to this happening twice now.

We bought this refrigerator 3.5 years ago during the pandemic. Its a great size large capacity for the footprint. Door shelves are great can hold large bottles. Shelves are adjustable. We have not had a single issue with it. Were very happy with it.

Desperately seeking a new refrigerator

Since Ive purchased this LG refrigerator in 2021 Ive placed two service calls for repairs. The refrigerator gets very cold that is freezes all of my produce. Not only that it goes so cold that i had to chang the casing around the shelves and to replace those shelves well lets just say it cost me the amount I initially paid for the refrigerator. And need to replace them again and place another service call. I would rate this appliance 0 stars but this survey is forcing me to select a star.

Apparently there was a class action suit and LG agreed to extend the compressor warranty to 5 years on labor and 10 years on parts but nobody local will do the service and most of the cost is labor. Never another LG.

Cracked shelves 9/6/2022

It is a beautiful frig very large and clean looking. The capacity is very good which is the reason we bought it.. Poor lighting design where it makes it difficult to find things in the cave.. Shelving was flimsy and cracked in just over a year.year. our last frig was perfectly fine except we updated our kitchen and changed to stainless steel. Miss the lighting ease of cleaning and the study shelves. Dont know if the shelves were damaged in shipping or a poor design but for a retired couple with no kids in the house to stress test the shelving disappointed that in less than 1 1/2 years we may have to replace the components at our cost.

We purchased an LG refrigerator oven and microwave six years ago. Of course we did not save the receipts for six years The refrigerator as cheap plastic shelving and two of the shelves cracked and the bottom shelf the plastic just fell off. We contacted LG and without receipts they did not offer to replace the shelves. We had to purchase replacements on something that should not have broken. Will we ever buy an LG product again? Absolutely not. We also intend to write a review indicating your poor service and product.

Worst appliance ever

Totally the worst experience Ive ever had with any appliance and company From the actual usage of the appliance it was unreliable unpredictable and defective by all means Yes LG repaired it at no cost but this usually took 3-14 days and in 2 years had to be repaired 6 times. In the end no food loss compensation no fridge everytime this happened for days or weeks were still waiting for a final solution now us disposing of it at our cost potential partial refund its been two years and 2 months since we bought it. The service dept us the biggest pain point asking for a repair is easy but any issue after that no show technician or attempt to get a refund or return good luck its scripted non English speakers and its impossible to get through any conversation if it doesnt meet their guide they literally repeat the same phrase until you give up and hang up DONT DO IT BUY ANY OTHER BRAND LG IS TERRIBLE

Repaired twice- not again

This refrigerator was repaired twice. Once that we know of by the previous owner of the home then us. Same problem- fridge wont stay cool. Its actually the door connection. Should be any easy fix but its always two visits: diagnose- oops gotta order the part well call when we have it then wait until they can fit you in. Hundreds of $$$$ of food moldy and spoiled each time. Third time You should just replace the door. The price of the door is as much as a cheaper refrigerator. We are remodeling when the contractors are finally available so we bought a cheaper refrigerator. Dont waste your money on LG - or at least do you homework on models and recalls. Why didnt they Recall this one?

Tired of everything in the freezer melting

Bad Fridge seals 7/10/2022

For awhile I thought it was user error. Maybe I put something too big in the freezer door? Or maybe the kids arent closing the door? After returning from a vacation to find the freezer door ajar and everything melted I decided to take a good look at the situation. Was there something impeding the door cloure? No. What could it be? After several tests I realized that when I opened the refrigerator door and allowed it to shut using only the force of the gravity hinge the compression caused by the door closing was enough to pop open the freezer door about 1/4. Enough to force the freezer to run continuously. And after days of continuous running with the door ajar it was not enough to maintain freezing temperature. Now we have a sign on the door that says CLOSE FREEZER because this probably happens 1/3rd of the time someone opens the door. In retrospect this has been happening since the refrigerator was new but I always assumed it was the fault of one of the kids. Its hard to believe after 50 years of using refrigerators and all of the RD that LG must put into product design that this could even happen. Havent we pretty much figured out the basic refrigerator by now?

I bought this a month ago out of box as I was desperate for a refrigerator. When it arrived at my house it had many more dents than we saw it in the showroom. Other that it works well is quiet and keeps my ice cream frozen. If I could change the inside I would put the lights further back rather than in the frone.

My family got this refrigerator probably about 1.5 yrs ago. Both draws have broken along with the bottom shelf. Two of the three shelves on the door have broken. My dad tried to look up replacement pieces but they were too expensive to even make it worth it and he found many reviews from other complaining of the same problems. This fridge replaced a 20+ year- old fridge and it amazes me how much more space I have with 3 cubic ft.more capacity. I love the 3 shelves in the door and the pull out pantry tray as well as the large fruit and vegetable drawers. I just wish the lighting at the top shelf were a bit brighter.

We bought this particular model because it was the only thing we could get when our old fridge broke down a few days before Thanksgiving. Not sure we were going to keep it because it is kind of a basic unit but we have come to really like it. In fact we are glad we got this model.

I wasnt expecting my old unit to go down when it did I was hoping it would have lasted just two more years because I would have been in a better place financially to afford a LG side by side. I really didnt want this style but living in a rural area you get what you can get. After having it delivered I was so impressed with its storage size and the internal lighting is impressive. I very pleased with it and hope for many years of service.

It has a quirk which got me a total refund from Lowes You close the door on the bottom and it leaves the feeezer door open They couldnt fix it 3x and under the extended warranty I was given a full refund. Since then I had two incidences with the icemaker stopping and leaking all over the floor The water input was frozen over The tech called LG and was told to get a new one. ..wrong it worked again after he cleared the clogged input.

The refrigerator section does not keep cool enough and I have had a lot of food go bad. The back of the freezer section is covered in ice. A repair guy came three times and replaced many parts but no change. I will not buy an LG appliance again.

Bought this piece of crap fridge in July. Think keeps spoiling milk and other food. Doesnt chill cold enough. Tech came out to fix said it was over stuffed so it froze the lines. We cleared it. Followed instructions and it still doesnt work

I bought this a year and half ago. It was the only top freezer to meet my minimum cubic feet requirement and fit into the space I have available. The nice thing is that it is a full 2 cubic feet larger than my last refrigerator. It has great features like the alarm if the doors are left open. The doors are also self-closing. The refrigerator is very consistent in cooling. And the freezer is great. It also has a great ice maker. The lighting is decent a little different with the LED on the sides but it does a decent job. My only complaints are the stainless exterior. It shows fingerprints and smudges terribly. I clean in constantly and there are only two adults using it. The other is the large snack drawer. They made it where it just is plastic sliding on plastic instead of rollers. Mine sawed a groove in one the shelf supports. I was always cleaning up plastic dust the would get on my food containers and the shelf. Luckily Costco and LG service were great and replaced the shelf and snack drawer. I really liked how LG sent a service technician out to help. And Kyle was very friendly and helpful. The downside of the new replacements is that they are the same design and will most likely do the same thing. Other than those two complaints the refrigerator is great and I would recommend it.

I didnt need a fridge with all the bells and whistles. Just wanted something that looked great with lots of room and kept everything cold. This fridge met my all needs perfectly. The LED lighting inside is awesome There was an issue with the compressor aprox 5 months after purchase. LG was very quick to respond and replaced the compressor.

Purchased about one year ago. Having major issues with fridge and freezer temperatures. We throw out so much food because the fridge is not cold enough. I have been sick multiple times because the fridge does not maintain its temp. It is a big fridge but it holds very little. The vents in the back of the freezer can not be covered or it will start to malfunction. The actual space is way less then advertisedfor the fridge to function properly. Less expensive smaller ones have operated more efficiently and held more groceries. Temp adjusts to a type of auto defrost mode in freezer but reduces the cool of the entire fridge causing food to spoil quickly. Could not understand why groceries were going bad so quickly because fridge will remain cool but not cold enough. Please be careful The warranty is only good for one year. THIS IS A RED FLAG ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF THIS PRODUCT. Not worth your $$$ wasted food. and/or the stomach aches.
