No water filter - Why

We bought this unit because it was simple and want all the extras But what we didnt realize is it did not come with a water filter system and had to install an external filter and tubing. After a little over a year it started making loud thumping noises and the ice maker wouldnt dump the ice. After phone calls to LG the issue continued. Plus it caused water to seep out and get under our flooring. In turn we had to replace all our flooring in the house. Plus trying to find someone to repair it is another problem. The noise continues when the ice maker freezes up and it will actually wake you up during the night if you dont turn it off.

What company makes a refrigerator with an ice maker and then does not add a filter?? LG Never again will I purchase a LG appliance. This was not communicated to us and now that the ice is tasting bad its just tough luck on our part unless we spend a bunch of money to have an outside filter installed. Horrible waste of money on this refrigerator and I do not appreciate the deceptive practice.

It is poorly made. The shelf molding fell off. We were sent a new shelf and was no better. The doors do not aline. Tha molding on one door ripped causing mold on both doors and water leaking on the floor. Repair and new molding is $300. The unit is 2 yrs old

I cant believe I bought this refrigerator new with 3 other appliances 3 1/2 years ago and the compressor quit. Took a 9 days to get a new compressor installed. In the meantime I lost a couple hundred dollars worht of food which I now have to replace. Had a cooler in my front hall keeping ice packs in there but still a real hassle. When the parts came in the local appliance people did a good job.

This refrigerator has worked fine for about 3 yrs. We like its configuration and space.Then the compressor died. It took 9 stressful days to get a technician to our home to find out what was wrong. The technician analyzed the problem and worked hard for at least 2 hrs replacing the compressor. He was very polite and efficient. Fortunately the repair was covered by the Warranty. We are relieved that the refrigerator is now operational and we hope that it will function well for a long time. Our previous refrigerator lasted 24 years.

I have had this refrigerator for almost 2 years. It has had 4 service calls and is now on number 5. First the refrigerator door gasket tore. Then the compressor failed. Now the defrost mechanism is leaking It takes a service phone call and then you have to wait for what they think is the part failure sent to you and then usually two more visits from the repair person to fix. Read the new reviews on this machine. Its a lemon

I wish I could rate a zero. I have owned this refrigerator for 3 years and it has broken down twice. It is extremely difficult to get LG to take action on repairing it. They take forever to get a repair tech out to fix it and when they try to compensate you for your trouble that even takes forever. The folks at ABC Appliance in Troy Michigan helped us order the 33 model instead of the more common 30 the extra space is great. I LOVE the freezer on the bottom two doors fit well in our space. Moreover the two doors facilitate cleaning. When we had a single door it hit the counter across from the frig.

I bought this in March 2022 and the compressor failed in August 2024. It was a heat wave where I live and everything spoiled. It failed on a Saturday but the repair tech didnt come until the following Thursday. Very inconvenient to say the least. The parts and labor are covered under warranty at least. I love the actual layout of the fridge and freezer but was disappointed that the compressor failed so soon after purchase. Come to find out about class action lawsuits due to failure of linear compressors. There is a food loss compensation but I was told I didnt qualify because repair tech came in 5 days but it only took a day to lose the entire contents of fridge and freezer. After escalating and not giving up I was able to qualify for some $$ for lost food and medications. Wont buy another LG fridge ever again. Repair tech was great at least

LG support left much to be desired.

We bought the fridge 2.5 years ago it served its purpose well and we were happy with it BUT it should last longer that 2.5 years and the support we needed to get it repaired was pretty terrible. Then the compressor went out. Thankfully we noticed before we lost all our food. I understand that things happen so we werent initially that irritated by it. What made the whole thing frustrating was trying to get it fixed. It took countless calls at least 10 with LG and the coordinating repair company to get it repaired its still not totally fixed. So far we have scheduled 5 appointments the first one didnt have the correct part ordered it and had it sent to our house appointments 2 and 3 were no shows no communication about rescheduling or why they never showed up appointment 4 they didnt have the correct tools appointment 5 they replaced it with a comparable but not the correct part they ordered the wrong part after the 1st appointment but didnt realize that until appointment 5 we went over 3 weeks with no fridge. We are on appointment 6 hoping itll just be done after this. Communication and follow through with LG repairs and customer service left a lot to be desired.

Prepare yourself for a $500 compressor fix

LG knows theres an issue with the compressor. They charge you $500 to fix the compressor when it inevitably breaks. I trusted LG as my go-to for home products... not anymore.

LG French Door Repairs

Weve had this LG refrigerator for 3 yrs. Been working great till the compressor stopped. The repairman knew his business. Right away he knew what the problem was. He had the part in his truck replaced the compressor in just a little bit before 2 hrs. Jorge was very knowledgeable about the refrigerator.

Great size for family of 5.

I bought 4 years ago. Its a great size however the compressor went out on it and we couldnt get a technician to fix it. So unfortunately we had to get a new fridge.

Excellent Product

I brought this product around 2 years ago and it has been wonderful. It is very big and spacious all my groceries are able to fit properly. I love how easy it is to change the temperature. Overall I love this wonderful product.

They dont t make them like they used to.

I loved the fridge until it completely died at 2 1/2 years during the hottest month of the year. Took 3 weeks just to get a repair man. I have another fridge I bought - used - 20 years ago and have had no issues with it. These new fridges suck.

AVOID LG kitchen appliances.

this frig is barely 25 mos old and compressor died. Then it two weeks to fix with no apologies for inconvenience. we spent a fortune on ice and lost food. Finally purchased a mini frig to help with keeping important medicines chilled without getting ice twice a day. Many appliance repair places indicated that they wouldnt touch an LG.

Compressor went out in less than 3 years

Compressor went out after less than 3 years. Thankfully that is covered under the manufacturer warranty and they arent charging us for the repair/replacement so far but it has been about a month since it went out a lot of back and forth with customer service and repair company multiple appointments no showed or showed and didnt have proper tools to do the job. Other than that the fridge was nice and good and ran well up until it didnt at all. If they could improve their customer service experience and warranty repair timing I would have probably given a higher rating even though compressor went out in such a short time.

Thot it was recommended by ABC not reliable. 25 mos old and compressor goes out. Two other friends same thing. Two weeks without a frig. Never again.

Customer service is horrible

We were happy with our purchase for the first couple years and I even purchased a second one for my mother about year 3 the compressor went out on ours and it took a month of phone calls and texts before LG customer service finally sent someone to fix it and now the second one I purchased has done the same thing compressor failed so another month long process dealing with customer service and still dont have fridge fixed. I will not purchase LG products again due to poor customer service.

I LOVE everything about my new LG refrigerator I love the French doors the amount of space it gives me the inside shelves and how it keeps such an accurate temperature The freezer holds so much more than my old side by side model.

LG is the worst company Ive ever dealt with

3 year old refrigerator died due to a failed compressor. Called customer support as it was under warranty and was told to wait 72 hrs for a return phone call. Nobody called. Called again and waited over an hour on hold to be told that the service company would contact me. They never did. I called again with another hour wait and finally got their phone number. They had no availability for over a month. This has now been over a week without a refrigerator. Called again and was told that the service company would be out on July 4th to replace my compressor. Obviously this wasnt happening especially after just having talked to the service company. 2 more weeks and numerous frustrating phone calls later I finally get approved for a pro rated warranty replacement. At this point it has been over a month with at least 10 hours of waiting on hold and I still do not have a working refrigerator. I go through the purchase process which can only be done through LG. I end up having to spend 400.00 to replace a product with a known compressor problem. My delivery is now scheduled. I take a day off from work and sit at home waiting. My delivery window is nearing its end with no phone call. I track the order once again and there is now a delivery exception. They apparently tried to call and didnt get through. No message. No sorry we missed you I was home watching for them nothing. Again called LG and waited on hold over an hour to be told that Id need to reschedule my delivery. At this point I am absolutely fuming mad. Wait yet another week for the rescheduled delivery. They do it again. No call no show but this time they were before their window. I called again and politely made them call the shipping company and have the driver turn around. They show up with an attitude trying to show that they called. I never got a phone call from them. They bring the new unit inside and ask if Id like help setting it up. I politely decline. On the way out the driver asks if I have a cold bottle of water. Hmmm. Did you not just deliver me a refrigerator? All in all I was without a refrigerator for over 6 weeks and now I have a ticking time bomb piece of crap LG refrigerator in my house that is destined to fail. From start to finish this was an awful experience and I will never purchase another LG anything. Worst company on earth.
