I didn't think I needed a new vacuum cleaner.I keep a clean home.And over the years I've owned all the common brands: Kirby, Hoover, Eureka, Dirt Devil and Bissell.Last week my purchase of some new furniture at a local store qualified me for a complimentary vacuum cleaner.You can imagine my surprise when I brought home the cordless Electrolux Ultimate800 Pet [Model EHVS85P3AG] and saw all the dirt, dust and hair my one-year-old Bissell had been leaving behind!Some years ago I sold Electrolux cannister vacuums door-to-door for a summer to pay my rent.My in-home demonstrations would go like this:I would have the homeowner, usually a housewife, vacuum a section of carpet with their machine.Then I'd vacuum the same section with an Electrolux fitted with a cloth bag I could remove and deposit the bag's contents back on the floor.Invariably I'd leave a pile of dust and hair that turned the skeptical homeowner into a thankful Electrolux customer.Now, I've given that same demonstration to myself.I am delighted with the Ultimate800.This is not your common run-of-the-mill vacuum cleaner.The packaging was first-class.Assembly was easy following the step-by-step video on my phone.The machine is lightweight, maneuverable, powerful, quiet and handsome.It comes with a variety of useful attachments for everything from floors and upholstery to light dusting.It can easily be configured for stairs or even the tops of tall bookshelves.Everything stores in a remarkably compact and tidy charging stand.I may never need to own another vacuum.I give the Electrolux Ultimate800 Pet five stars out of five.Thank you Electrolux for producing such a well designed, effective and high quality product.

I purchased the Ultimate800 Pet vacuum as a secondary unit for he downstairs floor of our house for general kitchen / dining room cleanup - we have a corded vacuum for the carpets upstairs - and so far it has been amazing! Light, quick to charge, picks up everything and had good battery life on auto mode - I can do approx 1200sqft of kitchen, living room, dining room and office on one charge. It picks up cat hair and litter with no problem - I only have to switch to full power mode occasionally if something is stuck to the floor. It does a great job on the carpeted stairs too and has enough attachments to get baseboards and other areas. We are super pleased with our choice and would definitely recommend.

I ordered this vacuum because my current one really did not pick up all the dog/cat hair. We have a Great Bernese. She is beautiful but sheds like crazy. I am amazed at how well this SMALL vacuum picks up. I really hope it continues to work like this for the next several years. I have been happy with how I was treated by Electrolux.

did a lot of research as we have a large home with mostly hardwood floors and tile, some area rugs, and a hairy dog. I really liked the amount of strength in the motor to the light-weightedness of this model. The attachment for hardwood floors is on backorder and had to be purchased separately, so still waiting for that. Other than that though, it's exactly what I had hoped and met expectations. We have an Electrolux washer/dryer that we just love, so was happy to see they make cordless vacuums.

We've been through numerous brands and types of vacuums and they always fail to last longer than a few months. We aren't hard on equipment or use them for unintended purposes. Right off the bat when unboxing, setting up, and using our new Electrolux vacuum my wife and I could immediately tell it is built to last, nothing on it feels cheap, not even the attachments. I find it frustrating to purchase a vacuum to then find out I need another attachment to even vacuum my rugs. The vacuum is great otherwise but even the minimum setting I can™™t get it to roll on my ruggable rugs because the suction is so strong which is great for pet hair but not for vacuuming rugs. I then go try and purchase the needed attachment that will hopefully work and it™™s out of stock.

I™™ve been a Dyson buyer for years but with the last one again losing suction I decided to try another brand. Electolux has been around along time so I gave them a try & have to say I™™m VERY pleased! The suction is great, stays charged to do my whole house, lightweight & easy to use & navigate around furniture!. Love the headlight to see all the debris I need to pick up. I have 5 indoor cats. Shedding is always going on. I purchased my vacuum, hoping, but not expecting much better than my Orek. WOW! Am I ever impressed! The auto feature is the best. I have some carpet, but mostly hardwood floors. This mode switches to both automatically. If there™™s a really tough spot, I get turbo suction with the press of a button! The machine is lightweight, which for me, at 68 years old is wonderful. Cat litter has met its match! No more shooting at my legs as I vacuum it up, and the hand held is easily removed for tight areas. Install the pet head attachment (very easy to do) and vacuum chairs, couches and other furniture. You™™ll be amazed at the amount of hair it gets that you never knew was there. Well worth the money! I just wish the battery lasted a bit longer on a charge, but it™™s fully charged in no time.

I would have rated the Ultimate 800 Pet Vacuum with a zero but that's not an option. In 1975, I was given an Electrolux canister vacuum as a wedding gift and it never failed, never needed to be returned or repaired. So, I had no doubt when I chose to buy this vacuum. WRONG! When the vacuum arrived, it was packaged perfectly but performance was well below satisfaction. Neither the brush roll assembly nor the bristle nozzle assembly functioned properly.. An Electrolux representative in sales /repair department didn't even know what parts were available, I had to download the parts list to find the #'s myself and then tell the representative the telescopic tube was not passing power to the roller heads. The new part worked intermittently. A second call to customer service resulted in the company sending a new vacuum. Now in the second year of warranty, this vacuum has diminished suction to vacuum up pet hair & other dirt, I am told I have to pay $100 to get a technician to assess and during this second year, only parts will be covered. THE ULTIMATE 800 IS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT, a CONSUMER NIGHTMARE as there are no Supervisors to discuss the matter, the only option is for you to give a credit card # to someone "off shore" (Philippines) to get a technician to come to the house and evaluate the appliance.I sent an email over a week ago to Electrolux, expressing my disapproval, without a response. DO NOT PURCHASE.

This vacuum started out great but overtime the stick started to bow at the center and will eventually snap in half where the glue is holding the canister to the stick. Customer service is AWFUL and IMPOSSIBLE to get any form of resolution. I would recommend Dyson over Electrolux any day. I have both products and will not be buying another Electrolux product.

I™™m happy with my purchase of my new vacuum. It does a really good job picking up dust and hair and debris from my wood floors and carpet. The only piece I™™m not wild about is the collection container. It takes a little work to line it up again to get it to click back into place, but overall the design and the effectiveness of this vacuum is very very good.

I am enjoying my Electrolux Ultimate800 pet vacuum. The charging stand is nice, is not mounted in the wall so it can be moved, and it holds all the attachments do they don™™t get lost. The filters are a little loose inside and can be a pain to get back in correctly when you empty the canister. Vacuum has a lot of power and charges quickly.

I have 1 large breed dog and 2 cats and was very excited about this vacuum. It immediately disappointed. After vacuuming a 4x4ft square, the roller was already clogged. The hair cutter worked the first 2x we tried it, but then did nothing when activated. We were having to cut the hair out of the roller and empty the canister at least 3x per room. We used for 2 weeks and ended up purchasing something that actually worked. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Purchased this vacuum not because I had too but because my previous vacuum wasn't doing such a good job picking up cat fur and litter. Previous vacuum was about 5 months old but didn't realize it wasn't a "pet" vacuum. It had a hard time picking up the fur and especially the litter.We just purchased an Electrolux washer and dryer (which are excellent too) and received an email that the vacuums were on sale. Took a chance and ordered one.This vacuum picks up the fur and litter the first time. It is a very quiet machine too. The dust cup is very easy to clean. Very lightweight too.Amazingly, I can vacuum the entire house on one charge (~1230 sq ft). That is amazing. Another ease of use is auto suction, the vacuum chooses the correct amount of suction.I didn't realize when I ordered this vacuum that the brush roll is smaller. I thought this might be a liability but it's not. It goes under/around furniture much easier and can get into places I couldn't before.Overall, the best cordless vacuum we've ever purchased! And not worried about the reliability because it is an Electrolux.

I have had many vacuum cleaners over the past 10-15 years. Something that bothered me with many of them is that dirt would kick out of the back once I ran over it. I would often find dirt particles I already swept up. I have had this Electrolux vacuum for a few weeks and not once have I seen dirt twice! Great, lightweight vacuum!

Pros: I do love sweeping with this vacuum due to its light weight and easy maneuverability. It™™s very easy to reach under furniture and around objects. The upholstery attachment is decent. Not as good as the one on my moms 20 year old corded Electrolux vacuum but decent. The fact it™™s motorized makes it better than most we™™ve had in the past. The suction is also really impressive for a cordless. But that leads to the major con. Cons: The battery life on this vacuum is horrible. We have a 3200 sqft home and I can get maybe 1/3 of the downstairs swept on auto mode. We have all hardwood or tile flooring so it™™s not even being used on carpet but the sweeper runs out in about 20 minutes. And it comes with only one battery with an additional cost of almost $70. For the price and the run time it should at least come with a second battery. I would probably bite the bullet and buy 2 more batteries if there was a way to charge them externally without having to have the vacuum on the stand but there isn™™t. So even if you bought a few more batteries once they all run out you™™d still have to hang the vacuum on the stand and wait 2.5 hrs EACH to charge. If I was someone living in an apartment or small home less than maybe 1200 sq Ft with no kids or dogs this would be a good sweeper. For anyone else the frustration of the short run time probably isn™™t worth it. I wish I™™d listened to the reviews about the battery life but there were so many good reviews I ignored them and regret it. The instruction manual is also very bare bones. Photos only with no text to clarify. It makes figuring out how to empty the canister ect a pain in the beginning.

This vacuum is so easy to use. I love the stand it comes with and I have probably vacuumed at least 5 time a day since getting it (we have a husky=a lot of hair!!)! It is not very noisy and lightweight (compared to a Dyson v11animal). The light makes it easy to see anything missed on the floor. Attachments are easy to switch out. The canister is simple to empty but the only downside about this machine is that I wish the canister was just a little bigger, or that it emptied down instead of having to take a lid off to empty it. Otherwise extremely happy with this product!

I was hopeful that this vacuum could be an easy solution to my pet cleaning problems. Nice that it is cordless, but the learning curve to figure out all attachments and connections took some time. When I became comfortable with the operation, the turbo setting wouldn™™t work™"turns off when I want the extra power. Also unhappy that the dust collection container is too small and needs to be emptied so often. I just received the product one month ago and hope to resolve the battery problem with Electrolux.

First use I was disappointed. The battery only lasted about 10 minutes (far from the 1 hour stated)! I love the light on vacuum head. Battery lasted longer with future use. Debris pickup seems to be very good. Plus the brush head is slim enough to really work at bottom of cabinets.

I had such high hopes for this vacuum, however the battery doesn't stay working for more than 10 mins at a time. Overheats and shuts off. I have had the absolute WORST experience ever getting reimbursed for this vacuum. I will never purchase any future items from this Co. I'm still waiting on a reimbursement.
